One think I got from thinking about annotations with the class is that the when we reading a passage we should read it right through the first time, then re-read it over a second time with writing notes on the side of the passage so we could get a little more understanding about what we are reading.
The thing I got from writing annotations for "Is Google Making Us Stupid?" is that when we use the Google/ Internet access we are getting distracted. While we are distracted we remember less and learn less. Google lets us find lots of information quickly but it doesn't give us the ability to think. When we think deeply that makes us intelligent, intelligence doesn't come from researching things quicker.
The thing I learned about annotating is that when we underline and write notes in the side of our passage we are getting more of an understanding about what they are trying to tell us.
Annotating makes us a better a writer because we learn more of what the passage is trying to tell us. We are highlighting only the basic or most important information of the passage.
